"Clarity"

Clarity is the second single off Heavier Things.

What John has to say about it:

"Clarity is a song that I've wanted to write since the end of Room for Squares. It was a piece of a melody that I had come up with, and I knew it was interesting. I knew it was important. That is the closest you'll ever come to knowing me. If you're like, 'Oh I want to read an interview and find out what John's astrological sign is, or does he like puppies or kittens?' All you have to do is listen to Clarity, and you will learn so much about me in the struggle for comfort. It's the way that I think. It's even weird to be sitting under the hot light of a camera and talk about that".

Which song on Heavier Things do you feel reveals the most about you?

JM: "Clarity" There's no part of me that's hiding behind that. A lot of songs on this record let people way in, where I think Room for Squares was a bit of arm's length. There's a lot less layering between what's going on in my brain and how I behave"

If you could leave one song as your legacy in musical history, what would that song be?

JM: Probably "Clarity" If that song was my calling card. I think I will play that after I get off the phone just to hear that again. (msn chat nov 05')
