Come Back To Bed is a song that John has described as his attempt to write a blues piece. He has mentioned that City Love on his previous album, Room For Squares, was his first attempt to write as close of a blues piece as he could, but felt that neither of them got to where he wanted, till he wrote Gravity, and he expressed how he wanted it to be a single, instead of Daughters.
