One of the biggest myths about the song is that it's written about his ex-girlfriend, actress, Jennifer Love Hewitt, which is false, since John wrote the song in 2000, and he did not meet Jennifer till 2002. John has said that the song is not about anyone but it's written to whoever his future wife is.
